It hasn’t been a week since Tumblr completely shit the bed with their new ban on “female-presenting nipples.”
But this just doesn’t effect women, it has an impact on us all. We are slowly witnessing the disappearance of the freedom of speech. It has been a slow encroachment on us. While we have BEGGED Tumblr, until we are bleeding out of our eyes, for their staff to take bullying seriously, to take stalking seriously, to take copyright seriously. Nope, they focused on nipples, specifically female nipples.
The site we are working on is heading to become a safe place for everyone, especially those trying to overcome mental health issues and acceptance, endless cat memes, car blogs, fans, fandoms and more fandoms. Yes, we will always have that wink-to-kink, but that can’t be our total world. Yes, this whole started as a reaction to the banning of adult content but it is NOT just about adult content, that was just the last straw. We all have been on the ass end of Tumblr’s hateful and mean-spirited policies for years. Last week, it all came to a rather frothy head with “female-presenting nipples.” Clearly Yahoo’s Board of Directors are in charge, not the adults. Adults seem to be in limited supply in Tumblr’s C-Suites these days. Kinda like Congress, but that rant I don’t have time for today.
But back to the replacement site… here are some updates;
We found a host, we have CMS software installed, we have the dependency packages installed and we are working on getting all the bits and bobs to play well together.
A landing page will be up tomorrow. I have been threatened by an army of tickle bears to have this done. It may not be our final URL, but it will do for now.
The site name will not be kink specific, it will be welcoming to all; from grandmas with recipes to fanfic writers to evolutionary microbiologists… then nipples – endless waves of nipples that will threaten to drown you in their nippily and buttery goodness.
We have a channel for those looking for volunteer jobs.
Also looking for graphic artists with a branding background to work on logo proposals. See the group for details.
We are plotting, planning and scheming all of this on a Discord server. Follow this link to find us: https://discord.gg/z3SQJjB
If that link doesn’t work, go to Discord and open an account, then try the link again. If it STILL doesn’t work, wait a bit and try again. Some people have had to do this three times to get in. This is a Discord issue and the only workaround I know of is just to keep trying.
Lastly, a special shoutout to all you pirates! I love you ninjas too, but you guys love your invisibility powers and I can never see you… until it is too late.
Maybe the army of tickle bears are really ninjas masquerading as tickle bears. Hell, I don’t EVEN know what is going on in my life anymore.

ways to save your current tumblr posts
use the wayback machine! you do have to archive each page of your blog individually but once you do all the content, including media, will be saved exactly as it was at the moment you archived it.
wordpress allows you to directly import whole tumblr blogs, and if i recall correctly it’s something both dreamwidth and pillowfort have said they are working on.
if you have some knowledge of computers you can try this github solution which uses a python script to download your whole blog to your computer. even if you don’t know anything about programming or the command line they give a very good beginners tutorial on how to use it so you should still give it a shot!
if that’s still a little daunting you can try soarcodes’ tumblr post that also has a decent tutorial!
some notes
please note that every site on this list will have pros and cons, and i haven’t listed them here since this post would be a mile long otherwise. please do your research before moving completely over to another site in case they have policies you disagree with.
also, because I see a lot of misinformed people ranting about this: deviantart does not own the art you post. some years ago hot topic stole a ton of art from DA and sold it on merchandise and people assumed that DA gave them permission to do it despite there being literally zero evidence for that claim. DA explictly states in their TOS that you retain copyright and sole license of the art you post.
I was out with an old friend last night (eating some oysters and drinking some wine) and he gifted me with this delightful issue of Penthouse from November 1973. The photos and the ads are all incredible to look at along with the general design of the magazine, but that letter to Nixon stood out instantly and I might have to frame it.
It’s otherwise a slow and rainy morning here in Brooklyn. Let’s see if I can write something dirty.

Good time to bring this back. Read that lovely letter by TJ.
I am not entirely sure if I will end up moving to twitter, but at least for the time being it will be used as a medium to keep everybody posted on the future (if any) of this blog.
So if you feel so inclined, follow @maxwe11d on twitter.
This is an image of the wall in my bedroom, where I display and enjoy some of the art that I have created over the past 14 years which feature non-sexual, consensual, adult nudity. In all likelihood, none of these images will be allowed under the new content guidelines. I had a website for a few years, but I had to give it up for economic reasons, and Tumblr has been the only venue in which I can display the art that I choose to create at minimal cost. I have been willing to put up with ever increasing numbers of sponsored ads and content on my Tumblr feed to be able to display my art, and to follow other artists and bloggers who take the time to create wonderful blogs, beautiful images, and literature that happen to contain nudity, and/or a positive and healthy attitude toward nudity, sex, and sexuality. I completely agree that child pornography is unacceptable, and that every effort should be made to eliminate non-consensual sex trafficking. I do not agree that consenting adults sharing images that they create, with other consenting, like-minded adults, even when they depict nudity or consensual sexuality should be banned or restricted. Tumblr should develop better ways of preventing minors from viewing content, perhaps create guidelines that encourage bloggers to post more of their own creative content, and not just pull stolen images from the myriad porn sites referenced in the message from the CEO, or give us artists the ability to control where and where our content is reblogged. To arbitrarily eliminate our blogs, some of which have existed for years, and which so many bloggers demonstrably dedicate so much time and care in creating and cultivating is reprehensible. I hope to be able to find another venue for my art and to continue to follow some of my favorite bloggers like #quickienewyork, #sarahtimpson, #livefree-n-nude, #grandma-did (to name a few) on another platform or in another truly inclusive community.
Thanks for the mention. Here’s one of my photos, which will obviously disappear:
Isn’t Tumblr just a wonderful citizen for protecting children from something so damaging?
Enough smarm – Grandma-Did will move on to another location. I’m open to suggestions.
